Kiphire District COVID-19 Welfare Committee Donates to CMO Office | Morung Express

Kiphire, May 4 (MExN): The Kiphire District COVID-19 Welfare Committee made a cash donation of INR 25,000 to the Kiphire Chief Medical Officer’s office, in the presence of district epidemiologist Dr Dheni Thonger, on May 4.
During an interaction, Dr Tsilise, secretary of the Kiphire District COVID-19 Welfare Committee expressed gratitude to the medical service in its fight against COVID-19. He praised the laudable work done by the medical department during the first wave and urged the department to do the same during the current crisis.
Stating that the money was donated to help with COVID-19 related activities, especially during contact tracing, sample collection and transportation, the committee called on the department to continue to do a good job. While ensuring their cooperation and helping hand in the future, a press release from DMO informed the CMO office on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Dr Dheni expressed his gratitude to the committee for their gesture and said that the department could do a lot with his contribution.
The doctor added that in the near future, the medical service would need their physical presence and moral support, which he said would play an important role in boosting morale in its continued fight against COVID-19.
Dr Dheni further stated that the pandemic is a public health issue, in which every citizen should take a proactive role by strictly following the SOPs set by the government.
