Transparency and simplification of the targeted delivery process

SRINAGAR, August 21: The Department of Social Protection today issued three notifications in accordance with Article 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies Benefits and Services) Law of 2016 for three schemes, namely Ladli Beti, the State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS) and Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) in which a person eligible to receive benefits from the scheme must provide proof of possession of the Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication .
This will result in a simplification of government delivery processes, bring transparency and efficiency, and allow beneficiaries to obtain their rights directly in a convenient and transparent manner by avoiding the need to produce multiple documents to prove their identity, Sheetal said. Anyone requesting benefits under the plan, who does not have an Aadhaar number or is not yet registered with Aadhaar, will need to apply for registration with Aadhaar before registering for the plan.
Until such time as Aadhaar is assigned to the individual, benefits under the scheme will be granted to that individual, subject to the production of the Aadhaar enrollment identification slip and one of the documents, namely, bank or postal booklet with photo; PAN card; Passport; Ration card voter ID card; MGNREGA card; Kisan booklet; Driver’s license, etc. said the notification.
